Englische FlaggeDIE ROLLI FLIEGER is an interest group of physically handicapped people practising General Aviation and aerial sports in Germany and other countries in Europe.
We ask all visitors of this web page who have any information about handicapped people piloting all kinds of plains or gliders anywhere in the world to get in contact with us.
Our aim is to collect and pass on information about the chances and possibilities for people with any physical handicap to get a pilots license. At the same time we have been putting a lot of effort into convincing authorities of the capability of physical handicapped people to practise any kind of aviation.

Some information about the flying activities of handicapped people in Germany:
There are 5 disabled pilots in Germany flying single engine aircraft, about 6 flying gliders and some more flying ultralight aircraft with hand control. Some more pilot planes with only one hand or one arm.
The types of hand control used in the single engine aircraft are the following:
one of the owners own design in a Aerospatiale / Soccata Rallye Minerva MS 894 (permanent installation)
one designed and installed by Aerospatiale in a Rallye MS 893 (permanent installation)
two Amtmann HS1Bs for Piper PA 28-140, -180, -151, -161, -181 (non permanent installation)
The hand control devices used in gliders are designed by the aircraft manufacturers GROB, SCHLEICHER, SCHEMPP-HIRTH. These hand control devices fit in the twin seaters of the firms mentioned and also in some single seaters.
Hand control devices in ultralight aircraft are either individual designs or they have been designed e.g. by COMCO Ikarus for the Comco C 22 (Fox) or C 42.
